SHIPPING AND HANDLING, within the USA
We ship your order after it has been verified and processed by our Order Processing Department. Choosing Overnight or 2-Day Delivery means that, once your order is verified and processed, it will ship Overnight, or 2-Day Delivery, or whatever method you have selected. Every effort is made to process all orders within 24 hours after receiving an order, and most orders process and ship within 24-48 hours. Same-day shipping is not guaranteed.Please keep in mind that we do not process or ship orders on weekends and/or holidays.
We offer shipping by UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air, and UPS Next Day Air. For heavy shipments, UPS Ground is usually the most economical. Shipping charges are computed on combined weights of all items ordered, and include insurance and a small handling fee. You will be able to view actual shipping charges AFTER you fill in the "SHIP TO" address + shipping option and BEFORE you enter your credit card information. If you do not like the shipping charges, select another option, or just close the screen; no order will have been placed, because you did not enter your credit card information. We may, at our discretion, ship some orders via U.S. Priority Mail.
After your package ships, we will notify you by the email address you sent with your order; the UPS Tracking Number will be included in our email to you. You will be able to track the shipment status online, through the UPS site.
ADDRESS CHANGEUPS charges $10.00 if the delivery address is changed while the package is enroute, and we pass that $10.00 shipping charge to you. Be aware that changing the delivery address after the package has been shipped is a UPS service costing an additional $10.00, which we will charge to your credit card.
BACK ORDERS
Although Corkscrew.Com makes every effort to avoid delays in shipping, occasionally we must back order an item that is out of stock. We will notify you by email of approximate ship date. Since shipping charges are figured based on the initial order's subtotal, any shipping charges for the backordered items willl not be charged again.

OUR PACKAGING MATERIALS
Our packaging materials are all recyclable, and, where possible, made from recycled materials themselves. Virtually every Corkscrew.Com order is shipped in a corrugated container composed of 25 to 30 percent postconsumer recycled material. Once used, these containers are themsleves 100 percent recyclable. Some shipments may contain Flo-Pak polystyrene loose fill packing material, commonly known as "peanuts". Flo-Pak is made from 100 percent recycled material, is nontoxic, and contains no substances--such as CFCs--that are harmful to the earth's ozone layer. Better yet, they're 100 percent recyclable. To find the recycling center nearest you that accepts packing peanuts, call the Peanut Hotline, toll free, at (800) 828-2214.
DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE RETURN
Notify us immeditately upon arrival if merchandise is defective or not what was ordered - send email to sales at corkscrew.com. We will respond with an RMA and instructions. Once the mechandise gets back to us, we will determine if it is defective or not what you ordered. Only merchandise that has been determined by Corkscrew.Com to be defective or different than that stated on the Invoice or displayed on this Web Site will be credited in full. We will credit your account or ship you new merchandise.
RETURNS/ RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION 30 DAY RETURN POLICY. You may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Corkscrew.com within 30 days of delivery for a refund. Email us at sales at corkscrew.com within 20 days from the date of purchase. When we receive the item(s) back in our warehouse, we will issue a credit to your credit card account for the cost of the merchandise.WE CANNOT ACCEPT ITEMS RETURNED WITH CRUSHED BOXES, MISSING LITERATURE, ASSEMBLED, USED, OR OTHERWISE UNSALABLE. Professional corkscrews - Cedon, Dion, Zeus - carry 15% restocking fee. Imprinted or engraved items cannot be returned or exchanged.

SALES TAX
Corkscrew.Com is required by law to charge California residents 7.25% sales tax . Sales tax will be automatically added to orders shipped within the State of California. We do not add tax to any order shipped outside the State of California.
SECURE SHOPPING
Together with the electronic commerce community, Corkscrew.Com has taken every measure to ensure that shopping online with us is as secure as ordering from a catalogue or making a purchase from a shop.
The technology involved is called SSL, for "Secure Socket Layer, and was developed by Visa, MasterCard and other major electronic commerce players to safeguard the online shopping consumer. The credit card number you enter into our order form is encrypted automatically, transmitted in this encrypted format across the Internet, and then decoded once it gets to us.
The specialized SSL (Secure Socket Layer) pages we use can be identified by the picture of a tiny gold "padlock", displayed in the bottom left corner of your browser, when you are viewing and entering information on our Secure order pages.

ALTERNATE ADDRESS
When you place your order, we ask that you provide the billing address and telephone number that matches the information on file with your credit card company. If the information you provide does NOT match the information on file with your credit card company, your order may be delayed - we will phone or email you for that information, and then call your credit card bank to verify that is is really YOU placing the order! If you are shipping to another address and your order is large, we may request that you call your bank and add that shipping address as an Alternate Address on your credit card account.
We all hear about the waiter, or whoever, who sneaks a second copy of your credit card and then goes "buying" stuff on your card. So, as consumers ourselves, we try to keep careful track of our monthly charges. On the other side is the merchant (i.e. Corkscrew.Com), where that same waiter (or whoever) goes to make the purchases. He could have YOUR correct billing info, buy an expensive item online from us, and then instruct us, for instance, to ship it to "Aunt Kelly" in Mill Valley.
If this happens and we ship to a FICTITIOUS Aunt Kelly, YOU get your statement, advise Visa that this was NOT an authorized purchase, Visa informs the merchant of this, and takes back the funds for the original purchase. This is called a "charge back". The Merchant has shipped merchandise they will never be paid for.
So, what Visa, MasterCard, and American Express say its merchants: either ship the goods to the card holder's bona fide billing address, OR to an alternate address provided by the cardholder. If merchants do that, they will always ship to addresses authorized by the card holder. |

Corkscrew.Com will not reveal any customer email addresses or information to third parties for any reasons.
We anticipate sending 2-3 emails a year - updates, "specials", corkscrew news, etc. If you never want to hear from us unless it's about an order, reply to email with "remove from list" in subject or body, and your address WILL be removed.
Please be aware that we monitor site traffic. We analyze which pages are popular, which are not, what areas of the country or the world traffic is coming from, etc. Though visitor movements within the site are part of this analysis, actual identities are never known.
