Cle de Vin means "Key of the Wine", and refers to the extra blade with copper disc. Dipped in a glass of wine, the copper disc helps the wine "age", they say, so you can approximate how the wine might taste in 2 - 10 years. View instructions, below.
The handle on this corkscrew is made from actual Oak Barrels used in wine making! Viewed from the side, as above, you will see purplish brown color, where the wine has imparted color to the barrel during aging. Take a whiff, and you will even smell the "must". Viewed from the "spine", you will see lighter brown oak color, from the "inside" of the barrel. The handle finish is rustic on this piece, to retain the unique qualities of this contact with the wine. Comes with Chateau Laguiole's own quality, leather snap case. Brushed steel bolster.
