This Nontron is a double action torque corkscrew, a "continuous turn" style, where you continue to use the same clockwise turn to both insert the worm and extract the cork. Nontron's top handle inserts the spiral into the cork. Next, shift your fingers to the bottom handle and turn to lift the cork out of your wine bottle.
Nontron, in the Perigord region of southwest France, is a small town known for its artisanal cutlery. The Pokerwork pattern, traditional on all Nontron cutlery, consists of two rows of small dots and horseshoe shapes known as "mouche" (fly), and is said to be based on a Moorish design.
