This tool is handy ALL around the house - finish assembling your new wine rack, then open a bottle of wine and relax! Cast Steel. Late 1800's. |
The invention of the Crown Cap, in 1891, created the need for a kitchen implement that could open cans, lift bottle caps, and extract corks. Once again, American ingenuity swung into action to create this handy gadget, widely manufactured even today in a form not too unlike the original. The version shown here is marked KING and bears patent dates of MAY 17, 92 and JUNE 11 95. There's no comparison to el cheapos of today, though; this one is sturdy and well made. Patented 1892 and 1895. USA |
