Deer Hoof Knife

The foot and hoof of a white-tailed, or possibly miniature, deer forms the side pieces of this old European knife. Six rivets hold the "shoe" in place. Once the knife is open, the blade will not budge until released by the lock.

Early twentieth century.
A. W. Wadsworth, Austria
