Corkscrew.Com - Online Since 1995

Welcome! At Corkscrew.Com, you can buy a fine quality new corkscrew for yourself or a friend, and get help starting or building an antique corkscrew collection. We describe essentials of a good corkscrew, provide a "Test" for evaluating the effectiveness of a corkscrew, and introduce major types of antique corkscrews through the Antique Corkscrews Gallery. This site is operated out of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have been collecting corkscrews for over twenty years. Unless otherwise noted, corkscrews pictured in the Gallery are part of our collection. We invite first-time visitors to make brief stops at Essentials and Collecting Tips before exploring the Antique Corkscrew Gallery, which features over 150 corkscrews, and, to buy new corkscrews, the Corkscrew Shop. No one knows when the first corkscrew was invented. The first patent was granted in 1795, for a corkscrew invented by the Rev. Samuel Henshall. For this and other interesting corkscrew information and history, we gratefully acknowledge the following resources: The Ultimate Corkscrew Book, by Don Bull If you would like to contribut pictures of rare or unusual corkscrews, references to related literature, names and addresses of dealers who specialize in corkscrews, etc., please send us email.
